Serene Blue Islands Off the Coast of Shimoda at Dawn

Two islands at dawn, off the Pacific coast along Shimoda in Izu, Shizuoka Prefecture, Japan. Shimoda is known for its spectacular sunrise scenes, but it was dark, dreary and cloudy the day we were there. Even at sunrise the sun was nowhere to be seen, the sky covered with thick bands of clouds.

We were pretty disappointed but I was able to take this serene sea with tranquil islands shot. I liked the calm blue tones and how eerily quiet and still everything was. The only sounds one could hear were the hum of the Pacific and the waves crashing onto shore.
