Peaceful Afternoon Blue Mountains Covered with Trees

静岡県の西伊豆で撮った山の風景です。一日中小雨が降り、午後二時半頃ビューポイントにたどり着いたが雲が分厚く太陽が全く顔を出さず。しかし、うっとしい午後の中、このような少し淋しげでありながらどこかが美しく静かな景色を目の当りしました。

A peaceful afternoon scenery of blue mountains covered with a carpet of trees. It had been drizzling all day and sky was overcast with thick clouds, with the sun nowhere to be seen, its presence felt only among a thin layer of clouds barely lit up with a sun ray.

I took this photo at a vantage point overlooking low mountains, forests and farms. It was a very dreary day but the quiet stillness was comforting. I loved the gradated tones of the mountains.
