Branches of a Big Oak Tree A Poem Lovely as a Tree

I took this photo of a big oak tree’s branches at the Royal Botanical Gardens in Melbourne, Australia. The tree was beautiful, with its branches raised up toward the sky and covered with the green and orange leaves of fall. I digitally wrote on the branches the first two lines of Joyce Kilmer’s (1886-1918) beloved Trees poem: “I think that I shall never see / A poem lovely as a tree”. I also added a grungy, striped yellow-green background. For all tree-huggers and nature lovers.
